Miss Evelyn Jackson, well known piano teacher of Atlanta, Ga., arrived June first to spend the summer in her home on Louisi ana Road. The Montreat Auxiliary Circles No. 1 and 2 will meet Tuesday afternoon, June 8, at four o’clock. Mrs. Nelson Bell’s Circle will meet with Mrs. Mellinger E. Henry wth Miss Julia Stokes co-hostess. Miss Roberta Daniel’s Circle will meet with Mrs William Ross with Miss Lively as co-hostess. Dr. Rupert McGregor, president of the Mountain Retreat Asso ciation, is in Atlanta attending the Meeting of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, U. S., held in the First Presbyterian church on Peachtree Road. Dr. L. Nelson Bell is in Atlanta as one of the commissioners to the General Assembly of the Pres byterian Church, U. S. Mr. and Mrs. William Graham of Assembly Drive, announce the birth on May 21st of Anne Morrow Graham. Mrs. Graham is the form er Ruth Bell, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Nelson Bell. MRS. McDOUGLE PRESENTS STUDENTS IN RECITAL On Thursday, May 27, Mrs. A. W. McDougle presented the senior group of piano students in recital at the grammar school auditorium at 8 p. m. At 3:30 o’clock on the same afternoon the junior group was presented. Members of the junior group in cluded: Beverly Rogers, Martha Lynn Jackson, Wanda Riddle, Bronte Carpenter, Ruth McDougle, Nonie Green, Donna Dotson, Billie Anne Ring, Mary Catherine Woodcock, Timmie Timmerman, Bruce Blank enship, David Alexander, Carolyn Smith, Carolyn Clapp, Charlotte Z Carpenter, Hazel Morris, Glenda Miller, Mary Ellen Sloan, Anne “ Leatherwood, Dorothy Allen, Mary Padgett. Evelyn Padgett, Patty Tyson, Joyce Justus, Jo Lena Allen, Doris McMahan, Betty Lytle, Dale Wrenn, Barbara Nesbitt, John Buckner, Jack Farr, Julia Capps, Eleanor Justus. Those who wre presented in the senior group were as follows: Stephan Kaplan, Robert Good son, Maria Spence, Peggy Wil liams, Anne Burnett, Barbara Justus, Eva Smith, Nanny Dough erty, David Walters, Connie Dougherty, Norma Justus, Mari lyn Cook, Doris Higginbotham, Frieda Ring, Wilma Justus, Sara McDougle, Thelma Brooks, Sybil Joyner, Eugene Hudson. In Mentoriam John Verlin Grant, Jr. John Verlin Grant, Jr., five-day old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Grant of the Camp Branch section died Sunday at an Asheville hos pital. Funeral services were conducted this Monday morning at 11 o’clock at Homer Chapel Baptist church with the Rev. George Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are the parents; one sister, Jeanette; one brother, James; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Grant of Black Moun tain, and the maternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Franks of Andrews. Arrangements were under direction of Harrison funeral home. IN CHARLOTTE Mr. and Mrs. Albert Garland and son Marshall, and Bill Phillips spend last Wednesday in Char lotte. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Frady and son Bryan were Sunday guests of the Rev. and Mrs. Harry Dycus and family.
